Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis put together a very solid game in the team’s big win over the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday. Davis put up 26 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and four blocks to help the team get the victory.

He dominated against the Charlotte defense and had himself a few highlight dunks, as well. One of which ended up giving Davis a technical foul. He posterized Hornets center, Nick Richards, like him a Kentucky alum under John Calipari, and may have celebrated a little too hard.

Davis spoke about the technical foul after the fact, giving it up to the Kentucky roots of both players, per Broderick Turner of The Los Angeles Times.

“Yeah. Kentucky on Kentucky,” Davis said. “Some Kentucky love.”

You can decide for yourself if this warranted a technical foul.

At a glance, it likely doesn’t warrant anything. It is nice to see Davis showing major emotion on the court, however. He only played 26 minutes, sitting during the fourth quarter with the team holding a big lead.

The Lakers recently changed to a new lineup, and Davis seems to be a fan of it. He spoke about the defensive-mindedness of the players after the game.

If this game against the Hornets is any indication, maybe they have found something that works. While Charlotte isn’t a very good team, any extra playing time together to build chemistry is great.

The hope is that this win can spark the Lakers to start a winning streak and get back to consistently winning games.
