Penn State’s impenetrable defense faces off against Ole Miss’ high-flying offense Saturday in a clash of two top-11 teams in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

The Nittany Lions allow the third fewest points per game in the country (11.4), while the Rebels score the 19th most points per game (34.8).

On a deeper level, Penn State’s defense is the stingiest in the nation in yards per game allowed (223.2), first downs allowed (151), yards per play (3.91), sacks per game (4.0) and total sacks (48). However, the Nittany Lions will be without defensive end Chop Robinson, who opted out of the game after he declared for the NFL draft.

Jaxon Dart will be tasked with leading Ole Miss against that tough unit. He’s completed 65.4 percent of his passes this season for 2,985 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and five interceptions. Dart also has 375 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He’ll have his best offensive weapons available, as well; running back Quinshon Judkins rushed for 1,052 yards and 15 touchdowns, and wideout Tre Harris caught 47 balls for 851 yards and eight touchdowns.

Penn State’s offense is no joke, either. The Nittany Lions actually average more points per game (37.2) than the Rebels and have scored at least 27 points in all but two games this season, their losses to Ohio State and Michigan.

Quarterback Drew Allar completed 61.1 percent of his passes for 2,336 yards, 23 touchdowns and just one interception. Penn State’s top skill position players will suit up, as well, in running back Katron Allen (851 rushing yards and seven touchdowns), running back Nicholas Singleton (702 rushing yards and nine touchdowns), wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith (673 receiving yards and four touchdowns) and tight end Tyler Warren (295 receiving yards and seven touchdowns).

Ole Miss’ defense is solid on its own merit, too. The Rebels allow just 21.8 points per game, which ranks 34th in the country. Ole Miss will have leading tackler in safety Trey Washington as well as leading pass rusher in defensive end Jared Ivey. The Rebels are on a two-game winning streak after being blown out by Georgia on Nov. 11.
