The Cleveland Browns have a chance to clinch a playoff spot when they host the New York Jets in Week 17’s edition of “Thursday Night Football.”

Rather improbably, the Browns (10-5) are two games up in the AFC Wild Card hunt with just two games to go in the regular season; according to the New York Times, their playoff odds are greater than 99%. They have not only withstood a season-ending injury to franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson, but rather have thrived in Watson’s absence behind veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.

Flacco and the Browns enter the matchup riding a three-game win streak. The 38-year-old has turned back the clock; in Cleveland’s most recent win over Houston, Flacco threw for 368 yards, his highest total in a single game since 2018.

Now, with the Browns eyeing their first playoff appearance since 2020, Flacco opposes his former team. He spent parts of three seasons with the Jets, backing up the likes of Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson while posting a 12-9 record as the starter. Ironically, Flacco’s best moment as a Jet occurred against the Browns in Week 2 of last season, as he netted four touchdowns and led a stunning comeback in the final minutes.

The Jets are coming off a dramatic victory over the Commanders, in which journeyman quarterback Trevor Siemian — starting in place of a concussed Zach Wilson — led a game-winning drive. New York had coughed up a 20-point halftime lead before Greg Zuerlein’s 54-yard field goal saved the day.

Here’s what you need to know about Thursday’s Week 17 clash between the Jets and the Browns, including broadcast information and start time.

Who plays on Thursday Night Football tonight?

  • Matchup: Jets vs. Browns
  • Location: Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio

For the Browns, the formula is simple: win, and Cleveland is playoff-bound for the first time since 2020. The Browns will attempt to clinch a postseason spot at home for the first time since 2002.

Flacco, who won a Super Bowl with the Ravens, is trying to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2014.

There are no postseason implications for the Jets, who will miss the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season, extending the longest drought across all four major North American sports. It’s the second game for New York since owner Woody Johnson confirmed that the current regime — head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas — will return for 2024.

What channel is Thursday Night Football on tonight?

  • Live stream: Amazon Prime Video | DAZN (in Canada)

“Thursday Night Football” will air on Amazon Prime, which will be the exclusive home for the NFL’s “TNF” package for the next decade. The streaming service purchased the rights to the program in 2022 as a part of an 11-year agreement with the NFL, so those looking to watch “TNF” nationally over the next decade must subscribe to Amazon Prime.

Al Michaels (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (color commentary) and Kaylee Hartung (sideline reporter) will comprise Amazon Prime’s “Thursday Night Football” broadcast team. They will be supported by a studio crew led by Charissa Thompson and featuring a quartet of former players-turned-analysts — Tony Gonzalez, Richard Sherman, Andrew Whitworth and Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Viewers in Canada can watch Jets vs. Browns on DAZN.
